Privacy Policy

This policy explains how saveto.me processes information when you visit the website, create an account, or use the Personal Internet Library.

Effective and last updated: August 11, 2026

1. Scope and responsible service

This Privacy Policy applies to saveto.me, including its public website, web application, browser integrations, synchronization, search, and related support interactions (the “Service”). References to “saveto.me,” “we,” “us,” or “our” mean the operator of the Service. This policy does not govern third-party websites that you save or visit.

2. Information we process

Account information

When you sign in through a supported identity provider, we may receive your provider identifier, name, email address, profile image, and authentication provider. We do not receive your provider password.

Library content

To provide the Service, we process information you choose to save or import, such as URLs, page titles, descriptions, notes, folder structure, tags, timestamps, pin status, page text used for search, and generated metadata. Your library may reveal interests or other sensitive context; you should save only material you are comfortable processing through the Service.

Technical and security information

We may process request metadata, IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, authentication events, error details, and security signals needed to operate, protect, and diagnose the Service. Cloudflare and identity providers may process additional information under their own policies.

Support communications

If you contact us, we process the information in your request and any details you choose to provide.

3. How information is used

  • Provide authentication, synchronization, import, export, search, smart organization, duplicate detection, link-health checks, and Ask My Library.
  • Fetch page metadata or content when enrichment is enabled.
  • Protect accounts, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and maintain reliability.
  • Respond to support, privacy, security, and legal requests.
  • Improve product quality using aggregated or appropriately minimized operational information.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use personal library content to create public profiles or serve behaviorally targeted advertising.

4. AI-assisted features

Smart organization, semantic search, summaries, and Ask My Library may process saved-page content through AI services configured for the Service. Outputs can be incomplete or incorrect. Source links are provided so you can verify important information. Privacy mode can pause external preview requests and smart enrichment, but it does not remove information already synchronized to your account.

5. Service providers and disclosure

We may disclose information to infrastructure, database, identity, security, and AI service providers only as reasonably necessary to operate the Service. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not authorize providers to use your information for their own unrelated marketing.

6. Retention and deletion

Account and library information is retained while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Deleted records may remain briefly in operational backups, security records, or legally required records before scheduled removal. You can permanently delete your account from Settings; this removes the account and associated active library data from the Service, subject to limited legal or security retention.

7. Security

We use safeguards intended to protect information in transit and at rest, including encrypted transport, secure authentication cookies, access controls, security headers, and account-scoped data operations. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Use a protected identity-provider account and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, or to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. The application provides export and account-deletion controls. You may submit a privacy request through the Contact page. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

9. International processing and children

The Service and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate transfer mechanisms are used. The Service is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required by local law, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the Service, law, or our practices. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the Service when reasonably appropriate. For questions or requests, use the Contact page.
