Frequently asked questions

Clear answers about importing, organizing, searching, and protecting your personal internet library.

What is saveto.me?

saveto.me is an AI-powered smart bookmark manager and Personal Internet Library. It keeps the original URL and folder structure, then adds useful metadata, smart tags, full-text and semantic search, duplicate detection, link-health tools, and answers grounded in your saved sources.

How is it different from regular browser bookmarks?

Regular bookmarks mainly store a title and URL inside a folder. saveto.me is designed to understand what a saved page is about, make it searchable by words and meaning, organize it without destroying your original structure, and help you reuse the information later.

Which browsers can I import from?

You can import a standard bookmarks HTML file exported by Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Opera, and other browsers that use the same format. The import preview shows what will be added before you commit the change.

Will import preserve my folders?

Yes. Imported bookmarks remain grouped under their source browser and retain their nested folder hierarchy. saveto.me can add smart organization alongside that structure; it should not silently replace your original folders.

How does smart search work?

Search combines exact title and URL matching, tags, notes, indexed page text, typo tolerance, and semantic relevance. Exact evidence should rank above weak associations. You can also narrow results by folder, tag, domain, or date.

What is Ask My Library?

Ask My Library answers a question using relevant pages saved in your own library. The answer is intended to remain grounded in those pages and include direct links to the sources used. If the library does not contain sufficient evidence, it should say so rather than invent an answer.

Does saveto.me remove duplicate bookmarks?

The import and save flows normalize URLs and identify duplicates before creating another item. You remain in control of deletion and can review library-health results before removing confirmed broken links.

Is my library private?

Your library is private by default and is associated with your account. saveto.me does not present personal saved links as public pages. Privacy mode can pause external preview requests and smart enrichment when you prefer a more restricted experience.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. The account deletion control in Settings permanently removes the account and its associated library data. Because deletion is irreversible, the app requires an explicit confirmation phrase.

Are browser extensions available?

Installable packages are available for Chromium-based browsers, Firefox, and Safari development use. Store publication may follow separately; installation source and permissions should always be reviewed before use.

Is saveto.me free?

The current product can be started without a credit card. If paid plans are introduced, their price, included features, limits, renewal terms, and cancellation rules will be shown before purchase.
